In Primavera: Fiori, Acque e Castelli

A corollario conferenze, visite guidate e molto altro.8th and 9th April 2017 (from 9 am to 7 pm)
The days of the open doors at the castles of Strassoldo Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Cervignano del Friuli, Province of Udine, highway exit of Palmanova)
While the warm Spring breeze wakes up myriads of flowers, soft leaves and hidden creatures in their gardens, the owners of the twin castles of Strassoldo (Upper and Lower castle) are polishing up theirs homes for the traditional week-end of the open doors also called “In Springtime: Flowers, Springtime and Castles”.
For this fascinating event the castles’ lawns, staircases and old walls will be richly decorated and the visitors will follow an itinerary leading them through the private halls of the two castles and adjacent spaces of the fortified complex (the former chancellery, warehouse, courthouse and rice mill), where they will also see high quality arts and crafts on display.
In the ancient orchard, washed by crystal clear spring water streams, there will be excellent plant nurseries with unusual and particular plants and a wide selection of country home and garden items.
These castles enjoy a great position, in the green Friulan spring water area countryside, not far from the Adriatic coast, between the ancient Roman colony of Aquileia and the Renaissance fortress of Palmanova. They belong to the same family that built them more than a thousand years ago, and they, therefore, still preserve original furniture and an authentic flair.
Note: this is a fundraising activity organised to let people discover an important historical site and to preserve the same and its territory.
